Anna Drezen is an actor, comedian, and writer working out of New York. Her absurd-but-approachable comedy has been featured on MTVu, the front page of CollegeHumor, Funny or Die, WitStream, Thought Catalog, Huffington Post, BuzzFeed, and SplitSider. She has performed at Joe’s Pub, the UCB, the PIT, the Del Close Marathon, and the Out of Bounds and Women in Comedy Festivals. The hotel blog she co-writes, “How May We Hate You?” is being developed as a book with Clarkson Potter and has been optioned for a pilot with Universal TV. Anna is the associate editor of Reductress, a fake women’s magazine (Forbes, “100 best Websites for Women”). At the UCB, Anna hosts Open Michelle and writes for the Livia Scott Sketch Program. She’s a regular panelist on the WBUR show “You’re the Expert” which is taped live at colleges and venues across the country. Anna’s also a member of the touring company of the Story Pirates, a non-profit that performs hilarious stories written by kids.
Anna holds a BFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied acting and devised theater. While studying at NYU, Anna completed the Core and Advanced improv courses of study at the Upright Citizens Brigade, studying under Shannon O’Neill, Anthony King, Will Hines, and Charlie Todd. She received a certificate in Shakespeare in Performance from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, UK.
